The Norwich Events Organization is proud to announce Regan Miner, Development Director of The Last Green Valley, as the Grand Marshal of the 2025 Norwich Winterfest Light Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in downtown Norwich.
A lifelong Norwich resident and passionate steward of the city’s heritage, Miner will lead the beloved Winterfest Light Parade through the heart of Downtown Norwich. Her selection honors her decade- long commitment to preserving and celebrating Norwich’s storied past while fostering community pride and engagement.
“We are beyond excited to honor Regan as our 2025 Grand Marshal,” said Erin Challinor, Co-Chair of the Norwich Winterfest Light Parade. “Her leadership in transforming historic sites into living community assets makes her the perfect ambassador to light up our Winterfest celebration."
Miner, a graduate from Norwich Free Academy, went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in English and art history from the University of Connecticut. Later, Miner received her master’s degree in public history from Central Connecticut State University. Since taking the helm at the Norwich Historical Society, Miner has spearheaded landmark projects, including the restoration of the Dr. Daniel Lathrop Schoolhouse into the Norwich Heritage & Regional Visitors Center, the development of the Walk Norwich Trail system, including the Benedict Arnold Trail and Uncas Leap Trail and served as a key member steering the committee to complete the Uncas Leap Heritage Park. Her efforts have earned statewide recognition, including the 40 Under 40 from the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce/ Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce in 2016, the 2016 Connecticut Governor’s Conference on Tourism Rising Star Award, the 2018 Mimi Findlay Award for Young Preservationists, and inclusion in CT Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2022.
Miner currently is the Development Director for The Last Green Valley (TLGV) and enjoys building partnerships to strengthen our cultural, historical, and natural resources within the National Heritage Corridor. In addition to her position at TLGV, Miner volunteers as Chairman of the Norwich Historic District Commission, is a Corporator at the Norwich Free Academy, and serves on numerous Norwich Historical Society committees, such as the Norwich America 250 Committee and Ghost Tour Committee.
